Panaji ODP-2031 to be re-notified

PANAJI

The Panaji Outline Development Plan (ODP)-2031, which had been prepared and notified but kept on hold after the Greater Panaji Planning and Development Authority (GPPDA) was disbanded, is expected to be re-notified soon and thrown open for inputs from the public and other stakeholders.

A missive to re-notify the ODP-2031 has been issued by the Town & Country Planning Department to the North Goa Planning and Development Authority (NGPDA).

NGPDA has been asked to re-notify the ODP-2021 as notified by GPPDA and to invite objections to the same from the public.

NGPDA has also been issued instructions to take on board consultants empanelled by the TCP department after the objections and inputs are received. It has also been instructed to provide 30 days after its re-notification for the process of receiving objections and inputs.

The missive issued by the Chief Town Planner has also said that the objections which had been filed earlier when the process had been carried out by the GPPDA, need not be filed again.

Low-lying paddy fields, water bodies, khazan lands, flood-prone areas, lands having slopes more than 25%, forest land including private forest, land falling in the buffer zone of wildlife sanctuaries and tenanted agricultural land shall not be considered for the change of zone during the ODP preparation, the CTP's missive has stated.

When the GPPDA was disbanded in August, it had jurisdiction over outlying areas of the capital city including Taleigao, Kadamba plateau and Bambolim.
