Panaji selected for implementing hydro-meteorological resilient action plans

The capital city Panaji has been selected for implementing hydro-meteorological resilient action plans (HmRAP) to improve its resilience against hydro-met hazards such as floods, Cyclone risk landslides, heatwaves, and droughts.

Panaji is amongst six coastal cities to have such hydro-meteorological resilient action plans. Panaji is one of the six coastal cities selected under the National Cyclone Risk Mitigation Project (NCRMP) phase “II for the preparation of HmRAP. 

The project is funded by world bank and would be developed by netherlands based consultant firm royal haskoning DHV with JV partner Taru leading Edge. As per the government released information, HmRAP will be prepared after data collection, computer modeling, and rigorous and continuous stakeholder consultation with the various organisations at the city, state, and national levels over the next eighteen months.
