MARGAO
With the Margao wholesale fish market renovation project almost ready for commissioning, a host of questions have come to the fore vis-Ã -vis the fish transporting vehicles, fish buyers coming from nook and corner of the State with vehicles, including three-wheelers, two-wheelers, cycles, etc.
In fact, questions are raised whether the renovated wholesale fish market has any provision for parking for the fish transporting vehicles inside the complex. And, whether the fish transporting vehicles will be allowed to park inside the market complex, or these vehicles will have to move out of the market after the designated business hours.
Secondly, one often comes across transferring fish, from thermocol boxes to fish crates, by the fish transporting vehicles, right on the wholesale fish market road, hampering the free movement of vehicles. Questions are raised whether the authorities will ban this activity on the road and permit these vehicles inside the complex after the commissioning of the wholesale fish market.
“Answers to these and many other questions remain unanswered. All these questions will come to haunt the authorities after the commissioning of the western bypass and the inauguration of the renovated wholesale fish market,” remarked an official in the know.
