CANACONA: Stating that Narendra Modi will be prime minister for next 15 years, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar asked the party cadres to start preparing for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls and virtually declared the re-nomination of sitting MP Narendra Sawaikar for South Goa seat.
Parrikar was speaking after inaugurating the BJP office at Chaudi-Canacona on Saturday.
"If it is Narendra for PM in Delhi, it will also be Narendra from South Goa," Parrikar told the BJP Karyakartas at Vijay Poi Khot's residence late Saturday night while winding up his tour of Canacona constituency.
As a last activity of his daylong tour of Canacona, Parrikar inaugurated BJP office at Mangalvan Complex, Chaudi, soon after holding an interactive session with elected representatives of Canacona at municipal hall. Incidentally, Congress Canacona MLA Isidore Fernandes' office is also housed in the same Mangalvan Complex using one and same parking space, but in a different neighbouring building.
Later, Parrikar headed to Poi Khot's residence at Sheller, where he met the Karyakartas and addressed them.
"I want you all to start making preparations right away, as we need to ensure safe victory of Narendra Sawaikar from South Goa in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. If it's Narendra for PM again in Delhi, South Goa will also send Narendra to the Parliament. For the next 15 years, Modi will be the Prime Minister and we need to make Modi's hands stronger to deliver what our country deserves," Parrikar told the Karyakartas.
Incidentally, in almost all the nine interactive meetings with party Karyakartas, without mentioning the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, Parrikar however, sought support to the initiatives taken up by the BJP and keep on continuously supporting and stand together with the party's ideology.
Parrikar, until the last leg of interaction with Karyakartas at Poi Khot's residence, without naming Sawaikar sought to highlight BJP's achievements at the Centre and State and only mentioned works initiated by Sawaikar, but finally called for support openly to re-elect Sawaikar at the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
Sources informed that Parrikar also confided to the party prime cadres and Karyakartas that his daylong visit to Canacona constituency is a three in one event - the work for the party with party programmes, undertake the feedback of development works undertaken and due and to gauge the mood of the electorate vis-a-vis the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha polls and preparation for re-election of Sawaikar.
