Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar has been keen to get Goa's tourism off to a big bang, but the minister was in for a bang with a different tourist encounter at Agassaim on Wednesday.
His official vehicle was banged from the rear by a minibus which was, ironically, an interstate tourist vehicle. Parulekar, however, escaped unhurt in the mishap.
According to reports, the mishap took place along the highway near the Agassaim police station as Parulekar was returning from an official visit to south Goa.
The tourist minibus (MH-04-FK-4151) rammed into Parulekar's official car (GA-09-G-9339) from the rear. The minister, who was seated on the front seat, escaped unhurt, while both the vehicles sustained minor damages in the incident.
“We have registered a case against the driver of the bus with a Maharashtra registration number as he banged his vehicle into the official car of the minister from behind," Agassaim Police Inspector Uday Parab told the media.
He added that traffic was affected for a few minutes due to the accident.
