A day after the FDA raid on the eatery owned by activist Nelson Fernandes was mired in controversy, the South Goa Planning and Development Authority (SGPDA) on Thursday said the PDA could not dish out information on the RTI applications applied by Nelson since he did not cite the relevant reference numbers.
Nelson had blamed the TCP Minister and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai behind the raid on his fast food joint on Wednesday. The TCP Minister, however, on Thursday has rubbished the allegations, saying he has nothing to do with the FDA raid as well as RTI information sought by Nelson from the SGPDA.
PDA Member Secretary Ashok Kumar told the media that the Planning Authority could not provide the RTI information to Nelson for the simple reasons that the applicant has asked for information in certain matters pertaining to the 90's. "Nelson has asked for certain files dating back to the late 90's, but we could not dish out the information for want of the relevant reference numbers. We had asked the applicant to cite the reference number, but in vain," he said.
In the meantime, TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai demanded to know why his name has been dragged into the FDA raid conducted on Nelson's premises. "What I gather is that the FDA has raided the fast food joint of Nelson and the adjoining outlet run by his brother. Why is Nelson trying to drag me in the issue when the raid has unearthed unhygienic conditions in both the outlets," Vijai told the media.
