CURCHOREM
Elections in 15 wards at the Curchorem-Cacora Municipal Council (CCMC) took place peacefully on Saturday, with a high turnout of 80.24%.
As many as 13,296 voters exercised their franchise at the 22 polling booths to determine the fate of 48 candidates in the fray.
Meanwhile, Power Minister and Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral told reporters after casting his vote that candidates supported by various opposition parties have been trying to defeat his candidates.
“But I al sure that at least 14 of my candidates will win the CCMC elections,” said Cabral.
