The petition will be taken up for hearing on Friday for admission and seeking interim relief before High Court, Judge Nutan Sardessai.
The petitioner, Dnyneshwar Damodar Morajkar, earlier filed a complaint before the Director of Panchayats but failed to get any relief.
Raising strong objection to the reservation of Ward 1 for SC, Morajkar alleged that the reservation was done with the intent to deprive him from contesting the elections.
He said not a single person belonging to the SC community exist in Ward 1 although it was shown that 429 voters in the ward belong to the SC. The petitioner further said all the voters, who have been marked as SC are migrants. TGN
