The AGPDA will also initiate other measures to pressurize oil companies to settle their long-pending demands.
During a meeting of the AGPDA at Panaji, it was decided to support the call given by AIPDA and shutdown all pumps for 15 minutes from 7 to 7.15 pm on Wednesday.
In a press note, AGPDA further stated that it will observe ‘no purchase day’ on November 3 and will not purchase any petroleum products from the oil companies. The AGPDA has, however, assured customers that there will be enough fuel at the petrol pumps and the customers will not be affected. On November 5, all petrol pumps will close sale from 7 pm.
The petrol pumps will remain closed on every second and fourth Saturday by 7 pm and will be closed on Sundays to cut down on operational cost. “There will be ‘no purchase, no sale’ till our demands are met,” added the press note. The AGPDA has urged oil companies to determine the dealers’ margin as per Apurva Chandra Committee report on realistic figures and revision every six months.
The AGPDA has also appealed to the oil companies to ensure proper blending of ethanol to avoid formation of water in fuel tanks of the vehicles, to maintain invoice of supplies as per automation receipt at the petrol
pumps, to determine realistic transportation rates and transport tenders.
