Meliny Meureli Pimenta was declared elected unopposed as the panch member for Ward No. VII of Orlim village panchayat on Friday by Returning Officer Prataprao P. Gaunkar, Mamlatdar of Salcete. Meliny was declared the winner after the other candidate, Nifa Pimenta, withdrew her nomination.
The Returning Officer had received two nomination forms by the deadline. During the scrutiny, both forms were accepted. However, today, on the day of withdrawal, Nifa Pimenta withdrew her nomination, resulting in Meliny Meureli Pimenta being declared elected unopposed by Returning Officer Prataprao P. Gaunkar.
