Police are also on the lookout for four more accomplices involved in the case.
The police said the accused -- Sushil alias Vijay of Haryana and Ashok Sutar of Delhi -- revealed that two businessmen, Ravikant Yadav and Vipin Singh, had given them the contract to kill the hotelier Gajendra Singh alias Chotu.
Ravikant Yadav and Vipin Singh allegedly owed about Rs 25 lakh to Chotu and wanted to kill him as they did not want to repay the amount.
According to information, Chotu noticed that he was being stalked by some individuals and notified the police. Acting on the details, the Crime Branch nabbed Sushil from a restaurant at Anjuna.
Incidentally, Sushil was living under a false identity and reportedly carried a fake Aadhaar card.
A country-made pistol and bullets were seized from Sushil and based on information given by him, the police then arrested Ashok Sutar who was working in a restaurant in Calangute. A total of six country-made pistols and 26 live bullets were seized from both accused.
Ravikant and Vipin allegedly gave a contract to a person from Delhi and he, in turn, had assigned the task to Sushil and Ashok.
They had been keeping a watch on Chotu for three days and had also carried out a reconnaissance of the restaurant and surrounding areas.
Sources disclosed that Chotu is reported to have received a tip-off that he was being stalked and accordingly, alerted the Crime Branch.
Four more accomplices involved in the case are absconding and police is on the lookout for them, as investigations are in progress.
