PERNEM
The ongoing boundary dispute between the Pernem Municipal Council and the Tuyem panchayat was discussed at the council meeting chaired by PMC Chairperson Suvidha Teli on Monday.
During the discussion, Councillor Upendra Deshprabhu told the council to handover required documents to prove the council’s right to the disputed territory or else to ask the advocate to take back his ‘vakalatnama’. Many councillors reprimanded municipal workers for coming late to office and failing to do their work diligently.
Councillors Shradha Mashelkar and Gajanan Sawal Dessai even suggested that municipal workers come to office for two hours on Saturday and Sunday.
The councillors expressed their displeasure over the absence of co-opted councillor and Tourism Minister Babu Ajgaokar for failing to attend the council meetings.
