Police book 2 for driving vehicles on Morjim beach

A tourist from Delhi and a taxi driver from Vasco were booked by Mandrem police on charges of driving their vehicles in a rash and negligent manner on the seashore of Morjim, thereby endangering the lives of tourists and locals.

According to Mandrem police, the incident took place sometime before 8.45 am on Friday, when a rent-a-car driven by Hasneet Singh Sehgal (29) of Delhi, and a taxi driven by Emmanuel Lamani (23) of Vasco, were found stranded on the beach.

Mandrem police registered a case against both drivers under sections 281, 125 of BNS 2023.

Meanwhile, local fishermen at the beach expressed strong displeasure over the movement of vehicles on the beach and claimed that the vehicles damage their nets and other materials placed on the beach.
