The measures come against the backdrop of recent law and order concerns to ensure public safety across the State.

“Goa Police has undertaken comprehensive measures to ensure the safety and security of the public across the state... detailed security arrangements have been implemented such as deployment of additional forces in public and high-footfall areas, security strengthening around religious places, markets, and public events in coordination with traffic police to manage vehicular flow and ensure smooth public movement,” he said replying to The Goan’s query on measures in view of ongoing festive period and the recent law and order concerns, particularly in South Goa.

Strategic nakabandis have been set up at key junctions and border points to monitor and restrict the movement of anti-social elements and prevent illegal activities, particularly during the night hours. DGP has appealed to citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
