Calangute Police failed to make any headway in the investigation over the death of the teenaged girl whose body was found on the Calangute beach in mysterious circumstances.
Although the autopsy report attributed the death to drowning and ruled out sexual assault, police were yet to find answers to probing questions.
Questions such as how did the deceased girl who was supposed to be at work reach Calangute or how her clothes went missing were yet to be found out or if it was a case of suicide what was the motive.
A senior police officer informed that a statement of the parents has already been recorded but questioning various other persons associated with the girl was going on.
Police are also trying to examine the CCTV footage of the Mapusa bus stand where the girl was last spotted. “We are trying to find out the sequence of events after the girl was dropped at the Hotel Green Park and later arrived at the Mapusa bus stand which will help us to establish some connection. But it takes time as we have to scan the entire footage and connect the events,” the police officer informed.
It may be recalled, the body of the teenaged girl who went missing on Wednesday was later found on the Calangute beach early Thursday morning.
