Expressing his displeasure over the pending work on the renovated Quepem Primary Health Centre building, Quepem MLA Chandrakant (Babu) Kavlekar has claimed that politics should not hinder development work.
Kavlekar was speaking at the inaugural function of the asphalting work at Condi-Quepem.
“The project is being delayed by the BJP government, because if it is completed in my tenure the credit will go to Kavlekar, the Congress MLA. There should not be any politics in matters pertaining to development works,” said Kavlekar.
The Quepem legislator said he had completed most works in his constituency, as assured by him, without indulging in petty politics.
Commenting on the tarring work, Kavlekar said the Condi internal road had been tarred at a cost of almost Rs 1.3 crore.
“Soon, the internal road from Cotta-Amona, St Francis colony will be tendered and work will commence,” he said.
“The internal road-tarring work in Igramol, Cotta Amona, Someshwar temple area, Bhat, etc has already been undertaken,” informed Kavlekar.
