Elections to around 15 wards spread over 10 village panchayats, and possibly three more wards, are likely to be deferred as the reservation and delimitation in these wards is currently embroiled in litigation.

The State Election Commission has once again approached the Bombay High Court at Goa seeking further clarification after the Supreme Court stayed the High Court’s orders which had earlier stayed the reservation in ten wards across seven village panchayats, and the delimitation of two wards.
The SEC has opined that, ideally, the nomination process in these wards will have to be conducted afresh, or at the very least allowing extended time for nomination which will not be possible in the current time-frame.
A final decision in this regard is likely to be taken by the State Election Commission after the matter is taken up by the High Court, which is expected to be on June 5.
