Amid speculation that he will be joining BJP, the Congress Ponda MLA Ravi Naik said that he will take the political decision after Tuesday stating that next two days are not auspicious as per Hindu muhurat."I have to ask the 'bhat' (pandit) about the timing of taking a decision. For the next two days I will not talk about politics as both days are not auspicious, " said Ravi Naik while speaking to media persons.
However it was not clear whether Ravi was referring to Devendra Fadnavis as bhat or he was literally talking about a bhat or priest.
Meanwhile the former CM held a Mahila Melava for women in Ponda constituency. This melava is construed as an exhibition of political strength by the MLA.
Though Naik did not make a direct statement regarding his joining BJP, he hinted at joining BJP. Ravi Naik praised the BJP central government for systematic vaccination in the country.
The vaccine has reached every nook and corner of the country, said Naik in the melava.
Ravi Naik said that MLAs should work for the upliftment of women in the society as the nation will progress when women march ahead.
Ravi will be joining BJP for the second time in case he joins the party. He had joined BJP in 2000 when Manohar Parrikar was the Chief Minister. He was Deputy CM in the Parrikar Government but later he quit the BJP.
Ravi Naik has in recent days distanced himself from the work of Congress. "You ask Girish Chodankar, he is the president of Congress party in Goa, about the work of Congress not me", said Naik when asked about the work of Congress party in Goa.
