Goa chief secretary has been named head of a Planning, Development and Construction Committee to oversee all planning and development matters including erection of buildings in Investment Promotion areas notified by the government under the Goa Investment Promotion and Facilitation of Single Window Clearance Act, 2021.Besides the chief secretary who is the chairperson, the committee comprises fourteen other members mostly bureaucrats, including the two district collectors.
The chief executive officer of the Investment Promotion Board will be the member secretary of the committee.
The Industries Secretary, Director of Industries Trade and Commerce, Chief Town Planner (Planning), Health Director, Director of Fire and Emergency Service, Chief Inspector of Factories and Boilers, Chief Electrical Engineer, Principal Chief Engineer PWD, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Member Secretary of Goa State Pollution Control Board and the Member Secretary Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) are its other members.
The Committee will have all the powers, including control or erection of building and powers conferred on it by the Goa Investment Promotion and Facilitation of Single Window Clearance Act, 2021 (Goa Act 19 of 2021).
