Ponda resident found murdered

PONDA: A resident of Ponda was found murdered at Tamdbi Surla on Friday.

Police have identified the deceased as Bramhanand Mamlekar from Ponda.

According to reports, Collem Police received a call from some person informing that a body was found lying at Tambdi Surla. Police rushed to the spot and found the body, about 20 metres away from the main road on the bank of the river.

Police further informed that the deceased was reported missing since January 4, and a missing complaint was lodged at Ponda Police station on January 5.

Collem Police suspects that the murder may have taken place about three days back. Police is investigating the case.

Sources informed that the deceased was stabbed with a knife and his head was smashed with stones.
