Ponda woman found dead, hubby missing

PONDA r rAccording to Ponda police, Tanuja Naik and her husband were staying in Margao and the couple had visited his ancestral house at Gaunem on Monday morning. rPolice said her husband had left the house in the afternoon on the pretext to bringing lunch, but failed to return home till late evening. rThis made his family members anxious and they went to the couple’s room, only to realise that Tanuja was dead. What aroused further suspicion was the fact that her husband had latched the room from the outside. rIncidentally, his uncle and the family were in house when the incident took place, police said. rLocal residents informed that the couple were married recently and were residing in Margao. rPonda Police went to the house and conducted the inquest, while efforts are also on to trace the husband.
