Portugal President arrives today; to ink MoU with Goa

A rousing reception awaits Portugal President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa who will arrive in the State today (Saturday) on a two-day visit. Meanwhile, Sousa arrived in New Delhi on Thursday night on a four-day visit,  his first to India. 

During the Portugal President’s stay in Goa, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed between Portugal based ‘Aguas de Portugal’ and Goa Public Works Department (PWD) for technical assistance in water and sewerage management.   

As per the planned schedule, President Rebelo is expected to arrive in Goa on Saturday around 5 pm.   

Soon after arriving, the President’s itinerary involves opening a seminar on ‘Urban Designs’ organised by the state-run Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited. Later in the evening, Rebelo would be attending a 

dinner hosted by Goa Governor Satya Pal Malik at Raj Bhavan, near here.  

On Sunday, Rebelo would be visiting Santa Monica Church and Museum of Christian Art at Old Goa before leaving the state the same day.
