Vasco police have registered a case against a Portuguese national, Elizabeth Flora Dias, on charges of submitting false affidavits and misleading authorities during mutation proceedings.
According to a complaint by Ravi Agnelo Luis of Bhute Bhat, Vasco, the accused falsely swore three affidavits along with the complainant on March 14, 2023, claiming Indian nationality despite being a Portuguese passport holder.
These affidavits were then submitted before the Mamlatdar of Mormugao in connection with mutation proceedings.
The complainant alleged that the accused deceived him and the Mamlatdar by misrepresenting her nationality and thereby fraudulently influencing the proceedings.
A case has been registered and an investigation is being carried out by PSI Priyanka Patil of Vasco police station under the supervision of PI Vaibhav Naik and guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
