Two youth were arrested and drugs valued at ₹1.3 lakh were seized when Calangute police raided a site at Naikawaddo late Monday night.
According to police reports, the raid took place at about 11.30 pm when police received information that a drug trade was going on near the HP warehouse in Naikwadda-Calangute. The police laid a trap and the two suspects were nabbed as soon as they arrived at the site on a two-wheeler.
During the search, 1.151 kilos of ganja worth Rs 1 lakh was found in the possession of Vaman alias Sunny Deuskar (30) of Tabrabhat-Saligao, which was in the boot of the scooter, while 3 grams of ecstasy worth Rs 30,000 were found in the bag of the accused, Hazareshaba Badiger (23), also from Tabrabhat.
The police arrested both accused under the NDPS Act. PSI Yogesh Mandrekar and his team conducted the raid under the guidance of Police Inspector Paresh Naik.
