Porvorim journo Chodankar dies of Covid

Senior journalist Vasu Chodankar from Porvorim passed away due to Covid-related complications at the Goa Medical college Hospital in Bambolim on Thursday morning.

Chodankar was admitted to GMC over 10 days ago and was in the Intensive Care Unit, where he breathed his last.

Chodankar was a reporter for a Marathi daily since the last 20 years and had been felicitated by a number of social organisations for his contribution to journalism. He was actively involved in social work at his native village in Pomburpa.

Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte has expressed grief over the demise of Chodankar and said he had worked tirelessly even during the Covid pandemic.
