A 30-year-old man from Porvorim died in a road accident near Shantadurga Temple in Sancoale while travelling from Vasco to Porvorim.
The deceased, identified as Avadhoot Pandurang Jadhav, originally from Kolhapur, was driving his car when he lost control and crashed into a tree on the left side of the road. He sustained serious injuries and was being shifted to South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, in a 108 ambulance when he succumbed to his injuries.
Verna police, upon receiving information from the SGDH casualty department, visited the hospital and conducted an inquiry. Jadhav’s wife confirmed the details of the incident during the police investigation.
The body has been preserved at SGDH for medico-legal formalities. Verna police have registered a case of unnatural death under section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
Further investigation is being carried out by LPSI Pramila Fernandes of Verna Police Station under the supervision of PI Anand Shirodkar and guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
