PORVORIM
Miscreants vandalised the school building and Bal Rath Bus of Triumph High School at Porvorim sometime during the Diwali weekend.
Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte, who is a part of the school management, has demanded the arrest of the vandals within eight days, failing which he has threatened to include Porvorim police as a party to the incident of vandalism.
“A similar incident had occurred a one-and-a-half year ago and a formal complaint filed with police went without investigation as it was considered a ‘minor complaint’. The vandalism of the school shortly before re-opening of the classes has left teachers and staff members frightened for their security.”
Stating that the glass panels of the school building and Bal Rath bus had been vandalised by miscreants, the Porvorim MLA said the entire act looked like a planned action to target the particular school.
“Vandalism of a school is a serious offence. Crimes in Porvorim have gone up and hence, we demand that the Dy Superintendent of Police act immediately in the matter. People have started losing faith in the police. A time will come when Goans will start taking law in their own hands,” Khaunte added.
