Pratapsingh Rane advises govt against IIT at Melauli, says listen to the voice of locals

Senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister Pratapsingh Rane has advised the government against insisting on going ahead with the IIT project at Shel-Melauli against wishes of people, saying it can be set up on an alternate site.

“There are many other places which government can consider. Why go against the people. After all it is people’s government,” he asserted. He also exuded confidence that the government would ultimately listen to the voice of the people from Melauli.

Vishwajit says infra projects needed to transform Valpoi

PANAJIValpoi MLA and Health Minister on Saturday stated that “sentiments of the people are important but so also are infrastructure projects that would transform the constituency.” He was referring to the ongoing agitation opposing the proposed IIT campus at Melaulim.“As far as I am concerned, people’s sentiments important but we have to also stand certain infra projects”, he stated adding that he supports IIT because it will transform the rural constituency.
