OLD GOA
Virtually ruling out a presentation on the IT Park for the Chimbel villagers, IT minister said a presentation has already been made to the Chimbel panchayat as well as the local MLA and the ZP member.
However, Khaunte said those who want a special presentation may write to the department and it will be arranged.
Responding to a query from The Goan whether a similar presentation would be held in Chimbel for the villagers, Khaunte said: “A presentation was held for Chimbel panchayat. We have even shared the white paper with the panchayat. So now, we have opened it up.”
“But if anybody wants a special presentation, let them write to us and we will arrange it,” said Khaunte, while adding that January 17 is the last date to make such a request.
“Till date, we have not received any such request from anyone,” he said.
When pointed out that there is a need to hold the presentation for Chimbel locals as there are people opposing the same, Khaunte replied: “These are only a few individuals who are opposing it and the offer of special presentation is for them as well.”
“We have followed the process. We have held a presentation for elected representatives, provided a white paper which was not done before. But if the panchayat requests for a presentation for the villagers, then it will be held,” said the minister.
