Over 50,000 students in primary schools across the State are set to get notebooks, with the State Directorate of Education informing that they have already reached offices of the respective Assistant District Educational Inspectors (ADEIs).
the goan I networkrPANAJI r rHowever, though raincoats too have been delivered to all ADEI offices, uniforms are yet to reach the offices of ADEIs in five talukas. rSpeaking to The Goan Everyday, an official of the DoE informed, “The State DoE provides notebooks to all the students of standard II, III and IV. The notebooks include two of 100 pages and two of 200 pages. These notebooks have already reached the ADEI offices and their distribution to the schools has already started. In another two to three days all the schools should receive the notebooks.” rThe notebooks will be provided to 53,500 students studying in government as well as government-aided primary schools. The State Government is approximately spending Rs 35 lakhs on the same. rAs far as raincoats and uniforms are concerned, they are provided to the students of standard I and III studying only in government primary schools. While raincoats have been sent to all the ADEI offices for further distribution; five talukas are yet to receive uniforms. r“Raincoats and uniforms are being procured through the Khadi and Village Industries Board. They will be given to nearly 11,700 students of standard I and III studying in government primary schools. However, uniforms are yet to reach ADEI offices of five talukas “ Mormugao, Sanguem, Dharbandora, Quepem and Tiswadi. We expect them to be delivered to ADEI offices on July 4”, said the official.
