In a fresh review of pending Missing Person Reports (MPRs), the Intelligence Fusion Centre — PRISM at the Crime Branch in Ribandar traced five missing persons across Goa and verified the status of another case.
The breakthrough came after PRISM carried out analytical scrutiny of several MPRs registered at police stations in Old Goa, Calangute, Maina Curtorim, Ponda, Mapusa and Bicholim.
Among the cases was one registered at Calangute Police Station, where three individuals were reported missing together on January 28.
“Through technical analysis and independent contact, PRISM confirmed that all three were safe. After counselling, they agreed to appear before the Calangute PS for verification and further legal formalities,” SP Rahul Gupta said.
In another case at Ponda PS involving a 19-year-old girl, PRISM established contact during a review on February 19. She later appeared before the Ponda Police Inspector on February 20 for verification and further legal procedures.
Similarly, in a third case, a missing individual was traced within Goa through intelligence correlation and later appeared before the Mapusa PS for further procedure. In an earlier case registered at Old Goa Police Station, SP Gupta said structured telecom analysis helped officials trace the missing person, who is being produced before the police to complete formalities.
PRISM also reviewed an MPR at Maina Curtorim PS, confirming the updated status of the case and ensuring records were aligned with procedural requirements. However, in an MPR registered at Bicholim PS, the missing individual was traced but was found deceased after verification.
