With the five-year tenure of incumbent Goa University Vice-Chancellor Prof Harilal Menon set to conclude in August, the office of the Governor and Chancellor has initiated the process to appoint his successor.
The office of Chancellor Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju has invited applications from distinguished academicians for the post of Vice-Chancellor of Goa University.
Menon was appointed as Vice-Chancellor in September 2021 and is notably the first full-time academic from within the university to hold the post. Prior to his appointment, he served as Dean of the School of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences at the university.
As per the eligibility criteria, applicants must be eminent academicians with at least 10 years of teaching experience at the university level or a minimum of 10 years of experience in a recognised research institution or academic body.
A three-member selection committee has been constituted to scrutinise applications and shortlist suitable candidates for the position.
