Mayem MLA Premendra Shet on Wednesday convened a meeting at the GSIDC to review the progress of land acquisition and the proposed Chorao-Salvador do Mundo bridge.
During the meeting, the consultant Dilip Kamat gave detailed presentation on the proposed bridge, stating that 27,000 sq. mtrs of land is proposed to be acquired at Chorao and Salvador do Mundo villages for the approach roads. He said the process for purchase of land is in the final stages.
The newly elected Mayem MLA expressed his desire to complete the bridge at the earliest to fulfil the long-pending demand of the people of his constituency.
Mayem ZP member Shankar Chodankar, Chorao Sarpanch Kamalakant Vadyekar, BJP leader Premanand Mhambre, the GSIDC general manager and others were present at the meeting.
