With Crime Branch investigating the fake call center busted on Tuesday, Tarak Arolkar who leased out his property to the accused has feigned ignorance about the ‘misuse’ of his agreement by the latter.
“The premises which was given on rent by me in a building at Colvale and same was given for rent to operate as office and not to run fake call centre,” Arolkar, who contested the assembly polls on TMC ticket, said in a statement.
The CB sleuths busted a major fake call centre racket at Colvale and arrested 33 fraudsters who impersonated Amazon Customer Service executives and cheated US customers.
