OLD GOA
After dilly-dallying for around two months, the PWD finally dismantled the pump house which was constructed in a private property in Chimbel without the consent of the plot owner.
The operation of dismantling the pump house began on Monday and was completed on Tuesday, giving a sigh of relief to the plot owner Rajendra Adkonkar.
It may be recalled that Adkonkar had warned of consequences if the pump house was not demolished at the earliest as he had suspected of clandestine operation of water release as water was found leaking from the pump on Saturday.
Adkonkar had earlier written to the Chimbel panchayat as well as the PWD on June 21, requesting to demolish the pump house so that the land was restored to its original position.
