A youth from Punjab has been arrested on charges of stealing three mobile phones and cash, all worth Rs 1.4 lakh from a restaurant at Junaswada-Mandrem.
According to police, the burglary is reported to have taken place sometime between 1.30 am and 8 am on December 2, 2022, when a burglar entered a room through the sliding door which was locked from inside and stole three mobile phones and cash of Rs 79,000, all worth Rs 1,40,000.
Pernem police had registered an offence under Section 380 IPC and began investigation.
During the course of enquiry and through technical investigation electronic surveillance, police found out that the accused is from Ludhiana-Punjab.
Under the supervision of PI Pernem Dattaram Raut, a Pernem police team was formed to nab the accused person from Ludhiana Punjab.
The accused person Rahul Yadav (22) of Ludhiana-Punjab was apprehended by Pernem Police team from Ludhiana.
The entire operation was led by LPSI Sumedha Naik and assisted by PC Sagar Khorjuvekar and LPC Swati Halarnkar of Pernem Police Station with assistance of HIC Harishchandra Palyekar, police constables Vishnu Rane, Sagar Naik and Baptist Mascarenhas of Call Monitoring Centre North, Porvorim under the supervision of Pernem PI Dattaram Raut, Pernem SDPO Rajesh Kumar.
