Following complaints from villagers, the Poinguinim panchayat directed a builder to stop the construction of an additional floor in Galgibaga.
In its notice, the Poinguinim panchayat further informed the builder that its application for the proposed construction of a commercial/hotel building, compound wall and swimming pool shall be kept pending until the matter is disposed of by the GCZMA.
The panchayat stated that it is in receipt of a complaint from villagers of Poinguinim regarding the construction of an additional floor in excess of the construction licence granted.
The panchayat also mentioned the GCZMA’s show-cause notice and direction not to carry out any civil works at the said site, besides the builder’s application pending with the panchayat for the proposed construction of a commercial/hotel building, compound wall and swimming pool (revised plan) as an upgradation of an existing residential building into a commercial building.
The Poinguinim panchayat informed the builder that the matter had been placed before a panchayat body meeting and it was decided to issue the stop-work order for the construction of the additional floor.
