On Thursday, Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho provided a comprehensive breakdown of the agreements and financial details between FC Goa and the Village Panchayat Salvador do Mundo. This follows a query from Mandrem MLA Jeet Arolkar seeking clarity on the matter.
The agreement covers several aspects of FC Goa’s operations at the Salvador do Mundo premises. The football club is responsible for monthly maintenance costs of Rs 1,80,000 for the ground, plus additional expenses for electricity (Rs 14,000), water (Rs 20,000), and one staff's salary (Rs 18,000), totalling Rs 30,96,000 annually.
The ground spans an area of 6,481.72 square metres, with construction completed on April 30, 2018, and FC Goa taking operational control from May 29, 2020. Notably, there has been no beautification work carried out.
In terms of rental costs, FC Goa pays Rs 11,85,000 for the ground, Rs 5,79,600 for the gymnasium, and Rs 6,21,000 for the cafeteria, all excluding taxes.
The club has also invested in various activities, including Rs 1,00,000 for sports day sponsorships, Rs 3,60,000 for coach salaries for training, and Rs 2,40,000 for grassroots training programmes.
The reply also provides additional agreements and documents related to the VP Salvador do Mundo premises. This includes details on the gymnasium, cafeteria, high masts, and generators, covering aspects such as operating agencies, agreement validity, scope of work, and current status. This detailed disclosure ensures transparency regarding the financial and contractual engagements between FC Goa and the Village Panchayat Salvador do Mundo.
