BICHOLIM
Thundershowers caused widespread damage across Bicholim taluka on Tuesday evening.
A number of trees got uprooted, with many of them falling on electricity poles and disrupting power supply at many places, including Bicholim, Bordem, Mayem, Kasarpal, Mayem and Amona.
Due to the inclement weather, preparations for Lakshmi Puja were affected at the Bicholim market and other places.
The Bicholim fire station were working to clear the fallen trees and other obstacles, while the electricity department were working to restore the damaged poles and wires, to restore power supply. Traffic was also disrupted at many places after trees had fallen on the roads.
