'Rainy' journey inside bus throws up many issues

'Rainy' journey inside bus throws up many issues GOACAN Coordinator Roland Martins shields himself with an umbrella on an AC shuttle bus with a leaking roof. Captured by : The Goan

MARGAO
Social activist GOACAN coordinator Roland Martins travelled with an open umbrella on Tuesday in an air-conditioned shuttle bus from Vasco to Margao.

Martins had to open his umbrella to protect himself from the leaking rainwater during his journey to Margao.

More than the leaking rainwater, what upset the social activist more was that no complaint book was available at the booking counter at Vasco to lodge a complaint about the bus's condition.

Martins said that he was also shocked to find that the ticket issued to him did not mention the bus number. “The bus number on the ticket was different from the one that I had travelled in,” he claimed.

“When I asked the driver about the leaking roof of the shuttle bus, he said the matter was reported many times, but nobody had acted. GOACAN will highlight this and other shortcomings to the newly appointed KTCL Managing Director Pundalik Korjuemkar.”
