In keeping with Goa’s centuries-old customs, children, youth and elders of Ranoi-Aldona on Monday celebrated ‘Sao Joao’ with traditional fervour and merriment at their ancestral community well in front of Mae de Deus Chapel.
The young and the old enthusiastically participated in large numbers in the festivities. Adorned in colourful ‘kopels’ and singing traditional Mandos, Dulpods and folk songs with gusto, all the revellers also enjoyed the sweets and soft drinks that were distributed.
