The Hotel La Paz Gardens in Vasco celebrated the traditional Goan festival of Sao Joao with traditional fervour.
The Sao Joao revellers checked into the hotel on Saturday evening for an overnight stay when the celebrations began, followed by the ‘Sao Joao Splash’ by the hotel’s poolside on Sunday morning. This is the hotel’s annual event for the last seven years. The event received good response, with revellers and family groups having a jolly time at the day-long celebrations. A grand lay out of traditional Goan food and sweet delicacies were the speciality. Fun and games and spot prizes were offered freely at the celebrations.
The event’s highlight was the Best Kopel Contest and Best Sao Joao Outfit contest. The best Kopel prize was won by Cristina D’Costa and the runners up was won by Yvonne Trindade. The best outfit prize went to Eric and Nadine.
