Rash driving claims life of 60-year-old woman in Bambolim

A 37-year-old woman has been booked for allegedly driving her car negligently resulting in the death of a pedestrian in Bambolim. The accident occurred around 12:20 pm on the bypass when the 60-year-old victim Terezinha Fernandes was crossing the road. The driver Blazia Barreto, driving her Swift car, hit the pedestrian who sustained grievous injuries. She later succumbed to injuries. The Agassaim police registered FIR under sections 276 (rash and negligent driving) and 304-A (causing death due to negligence) of the Indian Penal Code against the driver. Further investigation is in progress.
