Ready to join MGP, says Madkaikar

Cumbarjua’s Congress MLA Pandurang Madkaikar and Independent MLA Naresh Sawal were invited for talks by PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar at his Altinho residence on Sunday, even as reports indicated that the MGP was keen on rope in the duo ahead of the Assembly elections in the State.

Yes, we were summoned and both of us have put forth our proposals, disclosed Madkaikar. When The Goan sought to know if he was ready to switch over to MGP, Madkaikar sounded positive. “I am ready as I am not happy the way things are going on in the Congress, but for me to join MGP, my proposal to Dhavalikar has to be first accepted by their party leaders,” he said. Sawal has also put up his terms before Dhavalikar, he added.

CM rolls out ‘jiyo’ for youth, offers free talk-time, data

Continuing with its publicity drive, BJP government on Sunday promised one gigabyte of data and 100 minutes of free talk-time to youth between 18-35 years as well as WiFi to all colleges in the State.
