Congress MLA Reginaldo Lourenco on Saturday disclosed plans to take up issues facing Visionaries Co-operative Society in the ensuing Assembly session, even as he took pot shots at NCP Benaulim MLA Churchill Alemao for making insinuations that MLAs had failed to raise the issue in the House in the past.
The Curtorim MLA also pointed out that he would oppose any move by the government to table two amendments in the ensuing Assembly session to help certain parties connected with the cooperative sector.
Addressing the media, Reginaldo said he felt sorry for Churchill who was casting wild aspersions without checking the facts.
“I would like to remind Churchill that when the incident first came to light in 2010, I had taken up the matter in the House. That time, Churchill was too busy with the affairs of the PWD,” he added.
Reginaldo pointed out that he had taken up the issue in the House on two occasions seeking to protect the interest of the depositors whose huge deposits were at stake.
“My advice to my senior colleague is to please avoid such insinuations against me in the future,” he added.
