Reginaldo seeks protection for old Sancoale Church ahead of feast

OLD GOA
Condemning the Sancoale incident where attempts are being made to disrupt St Joseph Vaz’s feast, TMC leader Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco called upon authorities to provide protection to the old Sancoale Church site.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the Old Goa structure inspection, Reginaldo said, “Goa is one of the best examples of harmony among all religions and caste. Goa is a peace-loving state where all communities of people reside. But some persons have got together to create communal disharmony, which is not in good taste and not in the best interest of the State.”

“And doing it during election time, one can understand the motive. They have an agenda,” he added.

“Such incident is to be totally condemned. Every person has a right to express his or her religion,” Reginaldo informed.

“I call upon the authorities to give protection to the old Sancoale Church site and ensure that there is no discord and disharmony in that area,” he concluded.
