PWD division 17 has informed that due to interruptions in power supply, the pumping of clear water has been affected at Assonora treatment plant.
The office has further said that water supply will be restricted in entire Bardez and parts of Bicholim taluka.
PWD, Executive Engineer, Div 17, V M Chavan informed that continuous power fluctuation since Wednesday morning affected the pumping activity at Assonora treatment plant. “When there’s continuous power failure, it takes at least two days to restore normalcy in water supply in the entire region,” Chavan said.
He said luckily by afternoon the power situation normalized and pumping activity has begun in full force.
“There won’t be total cut in water supply, but many areas may receive restricted supply of water, as delay in pumping activity will take some time
for the situation to return to normal,” the executive engineer added.
