The MRF Shed and a portion of the Library at the Revora Panchayat were gutted in a fire, causing a loss of about Rs 3.5 lakh on Friday night.
The incident took place at around 9.45 pm, when the fire first broke out at the dry waste in the MRF Shed. The fire quickly spread to the window of the library in the neighbouring Revora Panchayat Ghar.
The fire destroyed some books in the library room, TV sets, and electrical appliances. The fire brigade from the Mapusa fire station later extinguished the fire.
The damage to property in the fire is estimated at Rs 3.5 lakh. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained and investigations are in progress.
