Verna police has registered case against a car driver for rash driving in connection with an accident Cuelim which left a motorcycle rider injured on December 31.
According to a complaint by Verna Head Constable Sudesh Kumar Desai, the accused, identified as Mo-Jarif Sharif, of Tolleaband-Davorlim, was driving a car without a valid driving licence and in a rash and negligent manner while proceeding from Cuelim towards Cansaulim at about 2.15 pm.
On reaching Cuelim, Sharif suddenly emerged from an internal road onto the main road without taking proper care and precaution, colliding with a motorcycle.
The motorcycle rider, identified as Krishna Naik of Arvallem-Cortalim was proceeding from Cuelim towards Cansaulim when the collision occurred. Naik fell onto the road along with his motorcycle and sustained injuries.
Verna Police booked the car driver under Sections 281, 125(a) of the BNS Act and Section 3 of the Motor Vehicles Act. Further investigation into the case is being conducted by Verna HC Sudesh Kumar Desai.
The police have appealed to motorists to exercise caution and adhere to traffic regulations to ensure road safety and to prevent such incidents.
