A bus driver has been arrested on charges of fatally knocking down a scooter rider near the Nexa showroom at Karapur-Tisk in Sanquelim in the wee hours of Tuesday.
According to police reports, Rahul Sawant (27) of Honda-Sattari drove a passenger bus in a
rash and negligent manner while proceeding from Sanquelim towards Bicholim and on reaching near the Nexa Showroom at Karapur-Tisk at about 1.30 am, knocked down an oncoming scooter.
The scooter rider Mahmadadil Hubballi (21), a native of Gadag-Karnataka but residing at Vithalapur-Sanquelim sustained head injuries and later succumbed to injuries at the CHC Sanquelim. Bicholim police arrested the driver late Tuesday evening.
